This meeting is being held this year in Luxembourg at the ECA, which is marking its 40th anniversary. It brings together the Heads of the Network of the Supreme Audit Institutions of EU Candidate Countries and Potential Candidates (Turkey, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo* as an observer), as well as the ECA and representatives of SIGMA (a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the EU) and the Joint Working Group on Audit Activities between the Network and the Contact Committee of the Heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU (JWGAA).
The participants will take stock of recent activities and agree a work plan for the years to come. Their meeting precedes the annual meeting of the Contact Committee of European Union Supreme Audit Institutions, which will take place on 12 and 13 October, also at the ECA in Luxembourg.
* Kosovo (invited as an observer): this designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo Declaration of Independence.
