The Task Force to explore the possibilities for cooperation with Eurostat and national statistical institutions (NSIs) was established in October 2011 and was co-chaired by the SAIs of Denmark and Poland. The overall goal of the Task Force was to identify areas where SAIs, Eurostat and national statistical institutions could cooperate, and to advise on concrete actions. The activities of the Task Force included development of a questionnaire to gather information about the current “state of affairs” of the relationship between the SAIs and the NSIs, as well as the establishment of the contact to the NSIs to exchange views on possible cooperation. At its meeting in Copenhagen in June 2012, the Task Force discussed – with the participation of representatives of Eurostat and the Danish NSI – the questionnaire results, as well as legal requirements and possible forms for cooperation. The Task Force reported the results of its work to the 2012 Contact Committee meeting. With the Background report and the Resolution on SAIs’ cooperation with Eurostat and the NSIs (CC-R-2012-02) the Task Force completed its work.
