For the safety and security of its buildings, assets, staff and visitors, the ECA operates a video-surveillance system.

The ECA’s video-surveillance system is compliant with the video-surveillance guidelines issued by the European Data Protection Supervisor (‘EDPS’). The EDPS is responsible for monitoring the processing of personal data by the Union institutions and bodies. The EDPS is a Member of the European Data Protection Board (‘EDPB’). The ECA also took into consideration the latest EDPB guidelines from 29 January 2020​ to ensure compliance of its video surveillance system with data protection requirements.
